Rust on Aida
Has anyone ever left a needle in a project then when they have come back to it, its rusty? I accidently did this recently and now am not sure if there is anyway to get the rust stain out of the fabric? Has anyone had this?(I have since been through all my other WIP projects and taken needles out - lesson learnt!!) They sell special rust remover for stains, look in the laundry detergent section in the supermarket I think I’m going to try lemon juice after finding a couple of rust spots on Aida in a kit I have Follow this tread for tips to remove rust stains Following this thread Happened to me too.My needle was parked on the side, and now 2 rust marks are there. From then on, all needles are wrapped in foil after each stitching session.
I've read somewhere that lemon juice can remove rust stain. Simply cut the lemon and rub it (and squeeze the juice as well) onto the stain. Then lay your aida under direct sunlight (without rinsing it).
But I'm not sure how long you must leave it until the rust disappears (or at least lighten). Hope this will help :) Have you ever tried Vanish? http://dl10.glitter-graphics.net/pub/369/369210ctiinlhihl.gif I've also heard that lemon juice would remove rust stains. Although I've never had the need to try it. Let us know how you get on with it.:D I have the same problem and never think of solution
I left my work so I'll be happy to found a way (let's try lemon first) Good that you tell it but bad for you.
Can you tell if lemon works please? how long did u leave your work before it rusted
I did a cruise and every day I would place the needle in the work and being on the sea you would think I would have had trouble but mine was fine.
I may have to rethink where I leave it next time though
thanks for the heads up i have never ever left the needle in the work. Then again i only buy the gold needles. esta muy bien
