Anyone weave here?

I'm thinking of buying a loom to weave scarves with fingering and lace weight yarns.   Does anyone here have any experiencewith this?   I'm still trying to figure out what kind of loom:)?

I started by making a frame loom from an old stretcher frame.I looked up on you tube how to do it.I want to practice on this inexpensive loom with my scrap yarn and then move up to a rigid heddle.I talked to Christine at GIST: Yarn and Fiber who was very helpful in giving me tips on how to chose my first loom. They are in the USA.I was also looking for a weavers forum to talk to other beginners to share experiences.

I've heard rigid heddle looms are good, from a friend who weaves. I really want to try, too

I haven't had my looms out in 30 years but hope to one day soon. The warp yarn is now so expensive but it is a very satisfying hobby.

I am talking my husband into helping me build a loom. We'll be working on it this weekend and I hope to be able to start playing with weaving in the next week or two!

Huzzah!!

Got my loom together yesterday and started on it. Still have a lot to learn as well, but I'm having a load of fun with it!
