Favorite Needles?
My favorites are 'petites'.What's everyone else prefer?I don't have a favourite...just whatever needle size works easiest with the fabric count. my favourites are John James petite needles
I love them
I love petites too! You get so much more out of the thread my jj and mary arden oxidize so easily , i don't know why...... I'm using tapestry petites 28 ;) Following this thread Thanks for the info! I have not heard of these needles could you provide a link please I use only Bohin's now. They are highly shined, so they slide through fabric easily and help with needle fatigue.
I think you can find Bohin's at most places. John James #26 or #28 petites.JJ is English make, but I believe they are available from most online stores. static/image/common/user_online.gif Rapsy static/image/common/clock.gif 2015-6-18 23:58 static/image/common/back.gif

I discovered Bohin needles last year, and now too won't use anything else.I'm so picky about my needles! You can get them in bulk for a very reasonable price from Anita Little Stitches (online). static/image/common/user_online.gif Rapsy static/image/common/clock.gif 2015-6-19 11:58 static/image/common/back.gif

The only thing about Bohins is that they do lose their shine. They can still be used, of course, but they lose their slide. I do go through more of them. But they aren't expensive by any stretch. I like the Bohin's best for now, though I haven't tried a wide variety of needles.
Size-wise, I think I prefer 26.24 feels a little too big, and 28 feels a little too small, but I'll use them if I need to.
I used to use solely piecemakers but recently switched to behind. i only use 28 Piecemakers every time. The eye of the needle does not wear the thread thin.:) I use unbranded gold needles. I am allergic too nickel and silver ones always made my hands blotchy and itchy. I just have to be careful because one the gold start coming off it is time to change ;P
