Experience Share ---- How to Maintain Cross Stitch Craft

1. Whenever we deal with or process stitch craft, we should keep it clean. Wash hand before we start stitching in order to prevent embroidery threads and fabric materials from oil stains.

2. If we get used to the embroidery hoops or frame, we should remove the hoops or frame as soon as we stop stitching, so that it can avoid dust and traces left on fabric.

3. We propose the use of embroidery line should be within 50 CM in length, which can effectively avoid the embroidery threads from knotted, twisted, wearing and pilling.

4. When stop the embroidery work, you should keep the craft in plastic or sealed bags which can avoid dust, paint or other liquid stains.

If you are late for our suggestion, but not too late, I will teach you some tips on how to maintain dirty cross stitch.

1. The cross stitch craft may get dirty because of time. In this case, you should wash with with cold water and neutral detergent. Wash gently and do not twist it. Do remember not to wash with soap because there will be some chemical residues left.

2. After wash, iron it with vapor iron. Put a piece of cloth on the table and put cross stitch on the cloth. Remember, back up. Do pay attention to the temperature!

3. After ironing, put it in books or other flat place instead of having it framed. Prevent the craft from dirty and twisted.
You had better to have craft framed as soon as possible, otherwise it will get wet. We suggest you have it framed in professional frame shop. Remember to prevent craft from sunshine and wet.

Thanks Liz for the tips!

1.I always wash my hands before stitching, but in between my hands keep on sweating....:curse:

2. I tried to use hoop, but my hands get tired, so I just rolled up my fabric.....:lol

3. My floss always get twisted, so sometimes I used "Railroading Method" to avoid this.

4. When not stitching, I keep my work in a box.
