Can anyone tell me the Russian to English crochet abbreviations?
I do many Russian amigurumi patterns and the abbreviations used for the same stitch in different patterns are often different from each other. In English a single crochet is always sc, a double crochet is always dc and so on. In Russian crochet there does not seem to be 'universal' abbreviations. Can someone list common Russian abbreviations and their meaning? Thank you! I would l9ve this as well as some many great patterns are written in russian i will try and see if i can do a semi readable screen capture for you allstatic/image/common/user_online.gif ghiromi static/image/common/clock.gif 2017-5-9 01:48
I purchased a few Russian patterns and when I have time I will use Google to see if I find some help ...
Thank you! When I did google translate in the past some I still couldn't understand the abbreviations, lol! And some patterns abbreviation 'key' is different for the same stitches. Google gave this translation on one pattern;
vp= chain
ss= connection colum
RLS= bar without nakida
K= 2 together at the front wall
PRSP= polustolbok with nakida
I need a translation for google translate!! Hahaha! Edited by crazyhorse1959 at 2018-10-4 21:52

Legend:
Ka - amigurumi ring
Pr - increase
Ub - subtraction
SBN - column without cape
Psn - semi-column with cover
P / s - offset loop
C / s - connecting column
In / p - air loop
being a translator by profession, i can tell google is not ideal for translating abbreviations, they turn to mumbo-jumbo, lol ;P but the rest of the words are simply transliterated. transliteration is, for example, writing in English any Chinese (french, german and other) word based on how it sounds (nee-hau - hello, for example) ;P Edited by Picxie at 2017-5-9 06:51
oh i wonder if it worked now.. i tried to edit my other post and only had .jpg as an option.. mods, im sorry im not trying to spam just trying to share a resource. sorry for the dbl reply .. EDIT again.. no it obv didnt work even though i could change it to 'all files' in the selection sorry i tried. I purchased a few Russian patterns and when I have time I will use Google to see if I find some help and write it all down. It's a pity that in this place there is not an area where we can get international abbreviations. All considered, we see patterns in many languages... static/image/common/user_online.gif Picxie static/image/common/clock.gif 2017-5-9 21:00
