Making Crochet Hooks

Hello all, How are we today?

I have seen some lovely crochet hooks pop up around that have like a clay molded bottom or something like that? Does anyone know how to make these? I would love to make myself and perhaps my grandmother some too but I have absolutely no idea how to do them.

Do you know how to do them? Would you mind walking me through how to make them, or point me in the right direction to look for what I might need etc?

Thanks so much in advance!
KJ xx

I love making handles from polymer clay, you can make them any size and shape you like. I also found Youtube to be the greatest help in step by step instructions :)

I use polymere clay to make nice handles for my aluminium hooks.Just have a look on you tube, theres a few great tutorials showing you step by step what to do!Its very addictive, i even made my pens nice handles now.

I've purchased the poly clay handle hooks but they stuck together and the clay crumbled off after the first few uses. Idk if the creator did something wrong but she ignored my messages so I only like wood handle hooks or my hooks I got that are similar to addi swing hooks (way cheaper) so just know they can crumble off

yes.. i use fimo/clay that you harden in the oven too for my susan bates hooks. Makes them so much more comfortable to hold. Here some i made really quickly in a couple of minutes.

FIMO or polymore clay I think is used to make the handles, its molded into a design and then baked. after which its ready touse, andtotally unique :D

i had a tube of old glue that was getting too dry, i used it to make handles, turned out really great. i hanged them from a piece of sponge to let them dry evenly.
