Stitching With Metalic Thread Tips please

Hi all

Thanks in advance

Thank you everyone for all the tips. Currently trying to use DMC Light effects & as others have mentioned it's horrible. I'm going to get some thread magic & try some of your tips.

Good luck with the metallics. My only tip is to keep the length short.

Thank you all for suggesting thread heaven, I bought some and yes it really does make stitching with metallic thread easier, I normally use DMC precious metals:)

my suggestion is just make a knot of both ends of yarn all together, to stop it fray more often.. but thread heaven is quite helpful :loveliness:

it is washable? i mean after stitching with this wax who do you get rid of it from the stitched work ?

Drea66 Publish time 2011-10-8 02:16

Yes, sabina it is washable. I use it all the time, not just for metalics. It does not leave any residue behind at all. I never had problems with that at all. It just makes stitching easier because it makes the floss slide trough the holes easier and helps to keep the floss from fraying. I never stitch without it.

Wax, short lengths, and a lot of patience.
