Sweaty Palms

hi all,
through out my life i have suffered with sweaty palms, in both cool and hot weather, i have tried washing my hands every hour to try and keep the sweatyness down but dont help, talc only makes my hands hotter and turns into a kind of paste :(, dose anyone else have this problem if so do you have a way of helping reduce the sweat,

normally it dont bother me but when stitching it discolors my floss or fabric, my hands are very clean before i pick up my work

thank you for your help

I also have this issue and it not only discolors the thread but you use a lot more needles too. My solution has been to use a hoop, keep a supply of needles and wash my hands often. I also tried using the gold plated needles but these discolor as well so not worth the expense.

Try a hand sanitiser with alcohol.

same problem here my palms are sweaty since birth.;P i usually stopped stitching when my palms are starting to get sweaty. i tried using gloves but it's a stupid idea hahaha the needle kept falling off my fingers.
i'll be watching over this thread hope someone helps us with our problem.

My ex husband had that problem. He started spraying the palms of his hand with either an anti perspirant or foot spray, the kind for sweaty feet and that helped a lot.

no, I didn't mean the foot powder. I was talking about a spray. I think it was Dr.Scholls or somehing like that. Or just a regular antiperspirant deodorant spray. It has to be the spray so you will not have a residue on your hands to get on your materials when you stitch.

I'm sorry but I do not know what to tell you I do not have this problem.

i have tried a few different ways, and all have failed :(, but as the nights are colder here and my window is wide open where i stitch it helps keep my hand nice n dry, but..... my girlfriend complains as its too cold for her lol, i cant win :)

Sure anti perspirant... they do one called Crystal, /i believe... it says it will not leave white marks on black clothes, give that a go :)
