Maybe you feel headache about how to start your cross- stitch, hereunder is a very practical and useful method of embedding. You will find it's easy to start art craft evenly once you learn this course.

1. The needle crosses under the vertical axis of cloth,

3. Needle down first from the top-left pinhole of square.

This makes lots of sense when you are starting new threads frequently, with lots of color changes. I do like the loop method, but of course it only works when you are going to stitch a new area with a significant number of stitches. Most of my pieces don't seem to have those areas of only one or two colors (I love complex pieces, can you tell??!!) and large enough to use an entire thread. Thanks for sharing this, I'm also going to try it out.

What is happening with the end of the thread when you first start? Is there a knot or do you just cover the end with later stitches?

That's very nice! I usually start by passing the thread though the middle of the square where my first cross will go.
