I did the bobbin bit and hated the kinks.  Now I use floss bags and store them in numerical or alphabetical order in a library card catalogue cabinet.  I posted a picture of this in Stitch Diary.  I should have posted it here.

I use bobbins and keep them in a transparent box according to numbers.

Me too but I keep started threads wrapped in plastic coils in a box and new thread in other boxes.

i have used the card bobbin in plastic box system , but i have many unwound flosses that it would take me weeks just to sort them all, i like the ideas here of bags and keeping the spare threads with them as well. maybe labels on the bags to help with number identification?!

I sort flosses in small plastic bags, arranged by color number.:)

I wind mine on bobbins and store in the plastic boxes. It works for me. The boxes seal shut and are in numerical order.

plastic bobbins and in bags, for my WIP´s I use a big Zip Bag each - with floss, fabric, pattern ...

update: I use Bobbins quite often, but I tend to use the skein, until it falls apart =) then I bobbinate =) My Bobbins are stored in a box, my unused skeins in plastic bags..
